Château Prieuré-Lichine’s large, 70 hectare vineyard stretches over five villages in the Margaux appellation. Acquired by the Balland group in June 1999, the estate has greatly benefited from the new owners’ efforts since that date. Vineyard plots are managed separately to make the most of each one, and Biological pest control is used. The grapes are picked by hand into small crates. They are destemmed without crushing, sorted on specially adapted tables before being punt in vat, and malolactic fermentation takes place in barrel, where the lees are stirred with a stick. Our philosophy: to introduce a new approach to viticulture in order to be more in tune with the terroir, and to consider the diversity of our soils as an advantage.
