Château Marquis de Terme, 3ieme GCC

Bordeaux > Margaux - 55.00% Cabernet Sauvignon; 35.00% Merlot; 7.00% Petit Verdot; 3.00% Cabernet Franc

The Marquis de Terme vineyard covers 40 hectares on some of the finest gravel (Günz gravel of Garonnais origin) slopes in the communes of Margaux and Cantenac. The vine density is 10.000 per hectare, and the average age of the vines is 35 years. The grapes are handpicked and carefully sorted at the end of the vine rows before being sent to the wine cellar to be processed. Fermentation takes place in cement vats and the wine is left on the skins a long time to absorb sufficient colour and flavor. The best vats of wine are then aged in oak barrels (35-50% of which are new every year) for 18 months. The wine is fined with fresh egg white prior to bottling, which is done exclusively at the château.
