Château Beauregard

Bordeaux > Pomerol - 70.00% Merlot; 30.00% Cabernet Franc

The Beauregard estate covers 17 hectares in a single block. It is ideally located on the southern slope of the famous Pomerol plateau. Beauregard’s reputation goes back at least as far as the 12th century, and the manor house, built in the 18th century, has a moat and square towers flanking a vast terrace. Beauregard’s topsoil is made up of gravel, clay and sand, and the subsoil has the high concentrations of iron oxide typical of Pomerol. The grapes are pruned for low yields of concentrated grapes. These grapes are handpicked and carefully sorted before being crushed and pressed. The wine is made with exceptional care and attention: it is left on the skins for 3 to 4 weeks in stainless steel vats, undergoes malolactic fermentation in new oak barrels and is aged for a minimum of 18 months minimum in barrels (70% of which are renewed every year). These winemaking methods produce fruity, elegant wine with a powerful, complex bouquet and a rich, long aftertaste. Château Beauregard belongs to the Académie des Vins de Bordeaux.
